AGENDA STATEMENT
City Council Meeting Date: May 23, 1994
SUBJECT:
Sale of Remnant Parcels on Dublin Boulevard Extension
Report by: Public Works Director Lee Thompson
EXHIBITS ATTACHED: Plans of two subject parcels
RECO NDATION:
~. Receive report for informational purposes.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
Revenue received from sale will be based on the high bid
price from the public. Area of the parcels is 22,280 square
feet.
DESCRIPTION: Two small parcels of land are left over as excess property
from the purchase of right-of-way for the Dublin Boulevard Extension project between
Dougherty Road and the Southern Pacific Railroad Right-of-Way. These parcels were
previously part of the Valley Boat House property and the Curtiss Dodge property.
The City has sold an access easement over a corner of the westerly parcel to allow
the adjacent property owner to the west to have driveway access onto Dublin
Boulevard, consistent with the use permit for the adjacent property. The easement
was sold at $8.50 per square foot (50% of the estimated $17.00-per-square-foot value
of the property).
The two parcels were offered to the two adjacent property owners, per the City's
ordinance relating to sale of public property, with a minimum bid of $17.00 per
square foot, less the value of the easement. Both of the adjacent property owners
declined to bid on the parcels.
The next step will be to offer these parcels to the public according to the adopted
bid process. This process is expected to take approximately four to six weeks.
