Direct Staff to issue appropriate purchase order forms and proceed with purchase of the vehicle. : Base Bid (VehiCle) $14,938.50 (SUfficient Funds have been accumulated in the Internal Service Fund Reserves to replace the unmarked vehicle and related emergency equi pment. ) DESCRIPTION : Staff is recommending that the City Council award a bid for an unmarked police vehicle. FINANCIAL STATEMENT Unmarked Vehicle Bid Results The Police unmarked Ford Thunderbird was purchased by the City in February of 1991. The vehicle was originally purchased as a used vehicle and has accumulated approximately 90,000 miles. The City Council authorized the solicitation of bids for an unmarked vehicle at it's April 10, 1995 meeting. Bid specifications were developed and circulated. Two bids were received and the bids were opened at lOam, Tuesday, April 25, 1995. The bid packages are attached as Exhibits 1 and 2. The low bid was presented by Shamrock Ford, with a bid $14,938.50 for the unmarked vehicle. The warranty on the vehicle will consist of the remaining balance of Ford's 3yr/36,000 mile warranty. There are sufficient funds in the Internal Service Fund for the purchase of the vehicle. Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the awarding of the unmarked vehicle bid to Shamrock Ford.
