HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 3.2 ApptStudentParks&CmtySvs (2) e e CITY OF DUBLIN AGENDA STATEMENT CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: June 27,1995 SUBJECT: Appointment of Student Member to Parks and Community Services Commission (prepared by: Diane Lowart, Parks & Community Services Director) EXHIBITS ATTACHED: ;Application RECOMMENDATION: \1V Confirm appointment of Gabriela Nassar to the Parks and Community Services Commission FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None DESCRIPTION: At the October 29, 1990 meeting of the Dublin City Council, the Council adopted a resolution amending the Bylaws and Rules of Procedure for the Parks and Community Services Commission to provide for the addition of a student member to the Commission. Per the bylaws, the student member shall be appointed by the Mayor based on a recommendation from the Parks and Community Services Commission. The Parks and Community Services Commission, at their meeting of June 20, 1995, recommended that the City Council appoint Gabriela Nassar as the student member to the Parks and Community Services Commission. Therefore, it is the recommendation of Staff that the City Council take action on the Commission's recommendation by appointing Gabriela Nassar to the Parks and Community Services Commission. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ITEM NO. Thank you for expressing an interest in serving as the Student Representative to the City's Parks and Community Services Commission. The purpose of the Commission is to consider and make recommendations to the City Council and Staff in all matters pertaining to the operation and maintenance for effective, efficient, and adequate recreation service for the citizens of Dublin. The Parks and Community Services Commission is made up of six members appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. The term of office for the Student Commissioner is for one year, commencing July 1st and terminating on the following June 30th. The Commission meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00p.m. Commissioners receive $30.00 for attendance at each meeting. Please take a few minutes to complete the follo\\;ng questions.
