If Council directs that this landscaping be pursued by the City, a budget appropriation would need to be approved from the reserves of the San Ramon Road Specific Plan Assessment District. Assuming no cost for the easement, the estimated cost of clearing, landscaping and irrigation is $2,000. DESCRIPTION: At Council's request, Public Works Staff investigated what would be necessary to relandscape the street comer where the Chamber of Commerce service club sign is located (Amador Valley Blvd. and San Ramon Road). The City right-of-way is slightly behind the back of sidewalk on the Amador Valley Blvd. frontage (10 feet back of face of curb) and approximately 12 feet back of face of curb on San Ramon Road (see map). The area between the City street right-of-way and the slurnpstone wall is shown on the Alameda County Assessor's records as being owned by the Tafjen's (as trustees) of Alamo, California. This area is part of the parcel containing Foster's Freeze and Casa Orozco. If the City were to reinstall landscaping and irrigation, it would be necessary for the City to obtain a landscape easement from the owners of this parcel. Another water service would not need to be purchased as City irrigation is already in place at this comer. If Council wishes to pursue having this landscaping done by the City, the installation could be added to the contract to landscape in front of the Tree Value Hardware site at the northwest comer of San Ramon Road and Amador Valley Blvd. g:\agenmisc\svcsign COPIES TO: ITEM NO. ~o ~ Z tu ~ Z
