WHEREAS, people of all ages must be made aware of what they can do to prevent themselves, their
families, neighborhoods, and workplaces from being harmed by violence, drugs, and other crime;
and

WHEREAS, the personal injury, financial loss, and community deterioration resulting from crime are
intolerable and need to be addressed by the whole community; and
WHEREAS, effective crime prevention programs excel because of partnerships among law
enforcement, other government agencies, civic groups, schools, and individuals as they help to
rebuild a sense of communal responsibility and shared pride.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED that I, Guy S. Houston, Mayor of the City of Dublin, do
hereby proclaim October 1995 as" CRIME PREVENTION MONTH" in the City of Dublin and urge all
citizens, government agencies, public and private institutions, and businesses to increase their
participation in our community's prevention efforts and thereby promote good citizenship.
