Report Prepared by: Lee S. Thompson, Public Works Director EXHIBITS ATTACHED: RECOMMENDATION: ~jc~ 1) 2) Map of Project Location Plans and Specifications will be available at the meeting 1) Authorize Staff to advertise for bids FINANCIAL STATEMENT: CIP construction budgets: 1) Drainage Improvements a Caroline Court: $36,000. 2) Drainage repair at Shannon Park: $19,960. These projects are budgeted from Gas Tax Funds. DESCRIPTION: During the winter of 1995, residents along Caroline Court and Firebrand Drive east of San Ramon Road experienced flooding. The cause of the flooding was the breaching of the creek at the Shannon Center, the overflow water traveling south on San Ramon Road and entering catch basins along.San Ramon Road which tie into the drain system along the east side of San Ramon Road. This system could not handle the extra water and overflowed into rear yards of residents 6h Firebrand Drive and Caroline Court. The solution to this problem involves work at both the Shannon Center Creek and along the Firebrand/Caroline Ct. areas. The Shannon Creek area will have a concrete barrier constructed along the east side of the creek to replace an earthen berm which was washed out. The Firebrand Dr. area will have a barrier constructed along the edge of the right of way to direct any storm overflow to the south directly into a Zone 7 concrete lined storm channel. Slaffrecommends that the City Council authorize Staffto advertise for bids. COPIES TO: ITEM NO. It/cc-for m s/agdastmt, doc LEGEND ~ Pro jet± Are~ SHANNON PARK
