AGENDA STATEMENT
CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: January 21,1997
~ SUBJECT:
Written Communication: Request for Skate Park
Report by: Diane Lowart, Parks & Community Services Director
EXIllBITS ATTAC~D: Correspondence from Doron Erenberg
RECOMMENDA nON: 01-' ,;J~~:fer to Parks and Community Services Commission
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: Correspondence has been received from Dublin resident Doron
Erenberg requesting that the City consider building a skate park in Dublin. At this time the Five Year
Capital Improvement Program does not include funds for construction of a park such as this, so Staff
would recommend that the City Council refer the matter to the Parks and Community Services
Commission for further consideration.
.
As a point of information, the City considered the feasibility of constructing a skateboard park in 1989.
And, while there was support for construction of a skateboard park, the project was abandoned when an
appropriate location for the park could not be found.

, To whom it may concern,
I would like you to take building a skate park in Dublin into
consideration. I believe that there should be a skate park in Dublin for many
reasons. One reason is so people who enjoy doing tricks on rollerblades can
have a place to do so. If we were to have a skate park in Dublin it would keep
many teens away from places where they shouldn't be and can get hurt.
There are many places in Dublin that forbid rollerbladeing so I think that this
would be a great thing to do.
There is a skate park in Pleasanton but most teens from Dublin can not
get there by themselves, and it is mainly for skateboarders. Also it is not very
big so it would be better to build a larger one in Dublin.
Sincerely,
Doron Erenberg
