FIN~C~ STATEMENT:
None at this time. A proposed purchase price will be submitted to
the City Council for approval at a later date.
DESCRIP~ON: Schuler Homes is in the process of acquiring the vacant lot which lies
between Starward Drive and San Ramon Road, generally northerly of the Shamrock Village Shopping
Center. This lot is proposed to be developed as a residential use. Schuler Homes is proposing to purchase
a small area (1400 square feet) of excess San Rarnon Road right of way along the westerly side of the
properVy, which would ultimately become a part of the proposed single family lots. Similar purchases of
excess right of way have occurred in conjunction with the Petco, FisheD', Public Storage, Stroud's Plaza,
and Sleep Shop properties on the westerly side of San Ramon Road.
Section 54222 of the Government Code requires that the City offer this property to any housing
authorities, redevelopment agencies, local park and recreation departments, and the State Resources
Agency prior to committing to sell to a private parry. If the property is declared to be surplus and Staffis
authorized to enter into negotiations with Schuler Homes for sale of the property, these agencies will be
notified in writing and will have 60 days to respond. If all agencies decline to purchase the property or
have not responded within 60 days, thee City may proceed to sell the property under the provisions of the
Dublin Murficipal Code. Staff additionally notifies all public utilities of a proposed right of way sale in the
event that existing facilities may require reservation of easements.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF TNE CITY OF DUBLIN
ESTABLISHING SURPLUS PROPERTY
AND D]I1.ECTING STAFF TO NOTIFY APPROPRIATE AGENCIES
WHEREAS, Schuler Homes has requested that the City enter into negotiations to sell
approximately 1,400 square feet of City property along the easterly side of San Ramon Road, northerly of
Amador Valley Boulevard in conjunction with residential development of property fronting on Starward
Drive; and
WHEP,.EAS, the City does not require the property for roadway purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin finds that
approximately 1,400 square feet of vacant right of way along the easterly side of San Ramon Road,
northerly of Amador Valley Boulevard, as illustrated in the attached Exhibit "A" is surplus land and
determined to be no longer necessary for the City's use.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Staffis authorized to notify the appropriate agencies of the
City's proposed sale of the property and is authorized to enter into negotiations with the adjacent
landowner regarding the purchase.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of July, 1998.
