DESCRIPTION: On February 2, 1999, the City Council awarded Contract 98-14,
Heritage Center HVAC System, to Breeze Air Systems. At that time, a budget appropriation was
approved for the completion of the work as the bid was substantially over the funds budgeted. This
increase was warranted for the expanded scope of work for the project.
The original scope of work provided for the replacement of two out-of-date heating and cooling units at
the Dublin Heritage Center with one larger unit, as well as the installation of new ducting, thermostat,
wiring and electrical connections. However, the scope of work was expanded to include the installation
of one 3-ton capacity unit and one 5-ton capacity unit, as well as gas lines for the operation of these units.
The addition of the gas lines necessitated contracting with PG&E for the gas service.
At this time, Staffrecommends that Council accept the contract with Breeze Air Systems as complete and
authorize final payment in the amount of $17,988.00.
