FINANCLAL STATEMENT: k/'~ Budgeted Actual Cost q/ $ 11,250 $ 8,151.84 (1997-98) 11.250 8.835.96 (1998-99) TOTAL: $ 22.500 $16,987.80 DESCRIPTION: On May 19, 1998, the City Council awarded Contract 98-02, the Sidewalk Safety Repair Program (Grinding) to ~C.~entral Coast Surface Grinding. The annual sidewalk program repairs offset sidewalks which may become tripping haTards. The grinding contract, which removes offsets not caused by tree roots or excessive ground movements, covered two fiscal years: 1997-98 and 1998-99. The funds for the grinding contract are part of the Annual Sidewalk Safety Repair budget, and funds not used for grinding are used for the sidewalk removal and replacement contract. Central Coast Surface Grinding corrected offsets at 408 locations in June 1998 and 402 locations in 1999. A new contract will be put out to bid again in early 1999-2000 to continue this program. The City Engineer has reviewed the work on the project and determined that it is complete and in accordance with the approved specifications.
