RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK
UPON THE INCORPORATION OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
WHEREAS, the people of Dublin, California, voted to
incorporate as a municipality on November 3, 1981 ; and
WHEREAS, Dublin's incorporation recognizes the importance
of the formation of a municipality to provide public services
under the control of elected officials of the City of Dublin
rather than remaining an unincorporated ward of Alameda County;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Newark looks forward to the
participation of the Dublin City Council in county, regional ,
state and national affairs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for
the City of Newark hereby congratulates the citizens of Dublin and
the members of the Dublin City Council of their new city and
pledges to work with them on issues of common concern.
' I HEREBY CERTIFY the foregoing resolution was introduced at a
meeting of the City Council of the City of Newark held on November 12,
1981 by Councilman Nagy option and passage, which motion was carried
after being duly seconded, and passed by the following vote:
AYES: Councilwoman Sisk, Councilmen Cortez, Foster, Nagy and
Mayor Smith

RESOLUTION NO. 70-81 0
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE DUBLIN SAN RAMON
SERVICES DISTRICT CONGRATULATING THE PEOPLE OF THE COMMUNITY
OF DUBLIN, CALIFORNIA, FOR OBTAINING CITYHOOD STATUS AND
PLEDGING ALL SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE IN THE TASK OF FORMING
A MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT
WHEREAS, on November 3, 1981,- the people of Dublin,
California, voted to incorporate, with the result that the
new City of Dublin will become a reality in February, 1982;
and
WHEREAS, Paul Moffatt , Pete Hegarty, David Burton, Linda
Jeffery and Pete Snyder were elected to the City Council and
are to be commended for their willingness to serve in this
most challenging post during the City's formative years;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board, being
fully cognizant of the challenges and tasks facing the City
of Dublin, pledges its support and assistance to the City
Council in order for it to develop a municipal government
that will be vigorous, responsive to its citizens' needs,
organizationally sound and purposeful.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Board commends the
citizens of Dublin for persevering in their quest for city-
hood and making it a reality. We wish the City of Dublin
every success in the exciting and challenging years ahead.
ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Dublin San
Ramon Services District , a public agency in the State of
California, Counties of Alameda and Contra Costa, at its
regular meeting held on the first day of December, 1981, and
passed by the following vote :
AYES : 5 - Directors Ronald Noble, Diane Schinnerer,
Joseph Covello, Richard Fahey and
Dennis Jeffery
