While I do not feel action on your part at the present time is critical, I do feel that the issues are items you may want to consider. 1. The southern curbs of Dublin Blvd. on each side of the entrance and exit to the Dublin Sports Grounds are painted red for what appears to be an excessive distance. My husband spoke to a uniformed officer at the sight recently and he advised he could see no traffic control reason. However, I thought that since the speed limit along there is high, this additional space could have been considered as necessary to allow people entering or exiting the Sports Grounds room to merge in with the flow of traffic. Considering the lack of adequate parking at the Sports Grounds lately, more people are parking on the street. Since you are to do a traffic study for potential signals in that area, I would appreciate it if you would have the traffic engineer include this aspect in his study. 2. I feel the name, San Ramon Road, between Highway 580 and Alcosta Blvd. should be changed to Foothill Road. This change could be made now and have little affect on residents and business owners as so few face San Ramon Road. This may not be the case in the future. Some positive aspects of the name change would be less confusing when directing friends or potential clients off 580 at the Foothill Road/San Ramon Road exit. Dublin business people may also inherit some of the benefits of the Stoneridge advertising using Foothill Road. If, for instance, a Dublin business puts his Amador Valley address in his ad and notes that Amador Valley is right off Foothill Road, then someone coming to Stoneridge will be more likely to try the Dublin business across the freeway because "it's just off the same road, so it must be close by, let 's take a run over and see it he has what we need." I do feel that the Foothill Road/San Ramon Road name change deserves your consideration. Thank you for the opportunity of presenting these two matters for your discussion.
