Dear Mr. Ambrose:
A wide spectrum of fine arts will be exhibited at the 1983
Alameda County Fair. Seven categories .of work will be represented:
watercolors; ceramics & sculpture; textiles; oil & acrylics; mixed
media; pastels & graphics; and miniatures.
To encourage and support participating artists, a patron
" purchase program has .been established. In 1982, thirteen businesses,
government agencies, and individuals made purchases. This year, I
hope that the city of Dublin will participate. As a patron, you
would be expected to spend a minimum of $100 to purchase a work. of
art.
This year' s show will be juried by Carol Herschleb, Alexander
Napote, and _ V. Weodbury. On June 12th, they will determine which
works will be in the exhibit. That evening, a private showing of
the works will be held for patrons to make their purchase and to
meet the jurors.
All patron purchases will be exhibited, with a card showing
the name of the patron, until the close of the Fair on July 10th.
A list of all patrons will be included in entry forms sent to artists
and in various publications distributed in the County and central
California. If I receive the enclosed card before February 1 , I can
include your name in the Fair' s Premium Book as well.
I am sure that a patron purchase by Dublin would be appreciated
greatly by , the exhibiting artists and by the Fair Association. I
urge the city to participate and to add a new art work to its
permanent collection. Please call. me at 455-4261 for any further
information.
Sincerely, n
