Home My WebLink AboutItem 3.4 AcceptImprovements84-2 (2) CITY OF DUBLIN AGENDA STATEMENT CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: July 23, 1984 SUBJECT : Contract 84-2, 1983-84 Sidewalk Repair Program EXHIBITS ATTACHED RECOMMENDATION : 1) List of locations repaired :.2) Map of locations will be available at the meeting ~ 1) Accept improvements under Contract 84-2 2) Authorize final payment to Ambo Concrete Inc in the amount of $8,824.00 3) Authorize a budget transfer in the amount of $5,700 to the 1983-84 budget FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Total Project Budget (including Engineering & Inspection) - $100,000 Total Project Cost (including Engineering & Inspection) - $105,628 DESCRIPTION : In February 1984, the City Council awarded Contract 84-2 to Ambo Concrete Inc., for sidewalk replacement project. The original contract amount was $66,288.50. The original specifications included approximately 200 locations which required repair. After commencement of the work, an additional 63 locations were called in by residents and identified by Staff. Staff authorized repairs for these new locations at the same unit price approved in the awarded bid. This brought the total construction cost to $91,628.12. In addition, the City was reimbursed by property owners for repairs at two locations totalling $1,455.14. The total amount budgeted for construction during 1983-84 was $89,000. Many property owners have expressed their appreciation for this program, particularly elderly homeowners who could not afford to make the repairs on their own. This program has greatly reduced the number of tripping hazards in the City. The Contractor has completed the improvements in accordance with the approved plans, specifications and modifications.
