Study
EXHIBITS ATTACHED Letter from City of San Ramon dated December 5 , 1984
RECOMMENDATION Direct Staff to notify San Ramon of Dublin's continued
interest to participate in study
i
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: To be . determined
DESCRIPTION At its meeting of October -'22 :1984;".=the City Council'
agreed to the concept of equal financial participation -in a Regional Fire -
Protection Study. At that time, it was anticipated • that six (6 ) agencies
would participate in the study. Those agencies were Dublin, Danville, San
'Ramon, Dublin San Ramon Services District, Tassajara : Fire Protection =
District and the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District .—
Since that meeting, the City of Danville has indicated it does not wish to
participate in the study. The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District has
indicated it will only participate in a study for San Ramon and its sphere
of influence. The Dublin San Ramon Services District agreed to pay for the
participation of itself and the Tassajara Fire Protection District,
At its meeting of November 27 , 1984, the San Ramon City Council acted to
proceed on its own with a fire study for only the San Ramon area, because an
agreement had not been reached with the other governmental agencies .
Since any study the City of San Ramon might - undertake regarding fire
services could potentially affect the City of Dublin in the future, it is
Staff ' s recommendation that the City Council authorize Staff to contact the
City of San Ramon to once again indicate Dublin 's interest in financially
participating in its study, as it is currently proposed by San Ramon,
provided that the Dublin service area is included in the study,
