DESCRIPTION : On March 11, 1985, the City Council approved an
agreement with the City of San Ramon for a traffic signal at the
intersection of San Ramon Road and Alcosta Boulevard. This location is
partially within both of the affected Cities.
The terms of the agreement require the City of Dublin to pay 100% of the
costs associated with the construction of the signal. The City of San Ramon
will then be responsible for future maintenance, energy, and any required
modifications associated with the signal. The City Engineer has completed
the design and provided the specifications to the City of San Ramon for
their review. The City of San Ramon's Engineering Staff has concurred with
the plans and it would be appropriate to now sOlicit bids for the project.
The project involves the signalization of a 4-way intersection. In order to
locate the signal standards in a position which is compatible with the
ultimate width of San Ramon Road in the City of Dublin, it will be necessary
to widen the roadway to the ultimate width as previously approved by the
City Council. The widening will not complete the full improvements of this
intersection. The development of landscaped medians and other associated
~rovements will be presented at a later date along with other projects
sociated with San Ramon Road.
It is recommended that the City Council authorize Staff to advertise
Contract 85-7 for bid.
