Financial in the amount of $1,000.00.

FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Acceptance of this donation in the amount of $1,000.00 will make
funding available for the Kids in Action program.
DESCRIPTION:
Dublin Police Services has served the students attending Dublin's public and private schools since 1982
and continues to provide outreach programs to all youth living in the City of Dublin. The City Council
has routinely supported efforts to identify at risk youth and provide resources to direct them and prepare
them for their future goals.
The "Kids in Action" program uses recreation activities to reinforce the positive commitment of service to
the community. This in turn builds self esteem in those individuals that participate in this program. The
planned activities are intended to promote trust between the youth and police officers, provide character
building for at risk youth, and foster cooperation with all members of the community. Dublin Police
Services budgets $1,500 annually towards the Kids in Action programs. With these funds Dublin Police
Services reaches out to approximately 125-150 youth each year. The Dublin Police Services Crime
Prevention Officer is the lead coordinator of this program.
The Anthony and Angela Bilich Family and Preferred Financial have donated $1,000 to Dublin Police
Services to be used in the "Kids in Action" program. The generous donation will provide funds to reach
out to even more young people and accomplish the goals of the Kids in Action program for the youth of
Dublin.
The expenditure direction recommended by the Bilich Family/ Preferred Financial for youth education is
consistent with the City's current objectives and past practices.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council accept the $1,000.00 donation,
approve the Budget Change, and direct Staff to formally acknowledge the donor, and use the funds toward
the "Kids in Action" program.
