RECOMMENDATION 4, Authorize purchase of office partitions from Dublin
Office Supply
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Total cost - $13 , 046 . 25 ; Sufficient funds have
been budgeted
DESCRIPTION During the 1983-84 Budget Hearings, the City Council
allocated sufficient funds to make necessary office modifications to
accommodate the planning, building inspection and engineering functions .
Staff has determined that portable office partitions will be the most cost
effective means of providing a suitable work environment in the City' s
present temporary facility. These partitions can be reused in other
configurations in the future if necessary.
Staff obtained price quotations from six vendors for approximately 185 feet
of partitions, including installation. The price quotations are as follows :
Inner Living Design $ 12 , 874 . 74
Dublin Office Supply 13 , 046 . 25
State Correctional Facility 14 , 557 . 00
Sam Clar 14 , 802 . 44
Alameda Office Furniture 15, 925 . 15
Contract Office Group 15 , 964 . 35
Taking into consideration the sales tax revenue received by the City by
purchasing from local business , the difference in cost between Dublin Office
Supply and the lowest bidder is almost negligible (approximately $41) . In
addition, Dublin Office Supply has demonstrated excellent service to the City
in correcting any problems with equipment purchases in the past.
Based on the above considerations, it is Staff ' s recommendation that the City
Council authorize the purchase of office partitions from Dublin Office Supply
in the amount of $13 , 046 . 25 .
