CITY CLERK File # œ~(2]-I3l[(t AGENDA STATEMENT CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: August 4, 1998 SUBJECT: Dublin Heritage Center Improvements - Contract 98-11 Report by: Bonnie Leonard, Recreation Supervisor EXHIBITS ATTACHED: Plans and specificatio~ will be available at the meeting RECOMMENDATION: 0t-- ~uthOrize Staff to advertise Contract 98-11 for bids FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Budget for Improvements: $ 69,070 Preliminary Engineers Estimate: $109,273 Fundingfor the improvements is from Park Dedication In-Lieu Fund DESCRIPTION: The Dublin Heritage Center Master Plan was completed in Fiscal Year 1996-97. This Plan identified improvements to the grounds including walkways, landscaping, plaza and gathering areas, picnic areas, fencing and signage. The 1998-2003 Capital Improvement Program includes ftmding for Phase 1 of the project which includes: 1) parking lot landscaping; 2) church landscaping and wedding court; 3) school landscaping and picnic area; and 4) cemetery landscaping ~ Nalkways. The construction documents have been completed and the cost estimate for the improvements under this contract is $109,273 which exceeds the 1998-99 Fiscal Year Budget by $40,203. Consequently, Staff has identified the wedding court as an additive bid item alternate so that if the bid exceeds the amount budgeted, the Council may delay this portion of the project to a later date.
