Acceptance of Work- Contract 98-08, Shannon Park Pedestrian Path

RECOMMENDATION:
Accept improvements under Contract 98-08; authorize payment of
$7,015.88 (excluding 10% retention) to W. T. Cook Construction for
the final invoice and release the retention in the amount of $779.54
after 35 days.

This project was originally budgeted in Fiscal Year 1997-98 and $188.00 was spent
in 1997-98 for design; however the project was not completed until this Fiscal Year.
DESCRIPTION: On September 1, 1998, the City Council awarded the Shannon Park
Pedestrian Path Project to W. T. Cook Construction.
This project installed a paved path on the slope between the existing bike path along the west side of
San Ramon Road and the service parking area at the rear of the Shannon Community Center.
The Public Works Director has reviewed the work on the project and has determined that the work is
complete and in accordance with the approved specifications. Staff recommends that the City Council
accept the project and authorize payment of the final invoice in the amount of $ 7,015.88 and release the
retention of $779.54 after 35 days.
