DESCRIPTION: Slurry seal is a preventive maintenance technique used to prolong
the life of asphalt surfacing. It consists of a sand/oil mixture which seals cracks and provides a new
uniform wearing surface. The City streets are slurried approximately every five to seven years, depending
upon the level of wear.

Failed pavement repairs required prior to the slurry seal placement are being done as part of th. is c.,nt.ract.
This year, the slurry sealing and striping of the Dublin Sports Grounds and Civic Center parking lots are
being combined with the Street Slurry Seal Program because of the similarity of work and the potential
savings due to the larger order of magnitude of the work.
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize advertisement of Contract No. 97-04 for bids.
