FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Bids received were as follows:
qxlPaco Pumps $ 99955.49

construction. The City will incur some additional cost through MCE

budget is $11,575,
DESCRll'TION: At the August 4th meeting, the City Council authorized Staffto
solicit bids for Project #98-10, replacement of the fountain pump for the Civic Center's Plaza Fountain.
The pump is currently inoperable and in need of repair. Staff has investigated the possibility of replacing
the existing 60 HP pump with a 30 HP pump in order to save energy cost in the future. Use of the smaller
pump is not expected to have any impact on the aesthetics of the fountain, and Staff expects the unit is to
pay for itself within about a year and a half through the savings in energy cost.
A total of two bids were received for the work. The low bidder is Paco Pumps, Inc. with a bid of
$9,955.49. Staff has reviewed the low bidder's submittal and is familiar with their work. Staff
recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution awarding a purchase order for the work to Paco
Pumps.
