HomeMy WebLinkAbout4.10 Amendments to Personnel System CITY OF DUBLIN AGENDA STATEMENT CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: October 28, 1991 SUBJECT Amendments to Personnel System (Report by Diane Lowart, Recreation Director) EXHIBITS ATTACHED Resolution Establishing A Salary Plan For Part-Time Personnel RECOMMENDATION Adopt Resolution FINANCIAL STATEMENT : Sufficient funds have been included in the 1991-92 Budget DESCRIPTION At the February 12 , 1990 meeting of the Dublin City Council , the Council adopted Resolution 14-90 which amended the classification plan to include a new position of Sports League Director. In addition, the Council adopted Resolution 15-90 which amended the salary plan for part-time personnel and established a salary range of $9. 00-$12 . 00 per hour for the new position. Staff has recently conducted a survey of public agencies in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties to determine the present market range for the position of Sports League Director. Of the 16 agencies surveyed, four have positions similar to the Dublin's Sports League Director. The average salary range of these four agencies for the position is $10 . 14-$12. 95 per hour. This represents an approximate 11% increase over the current salary range established for Dublin. As the current salary range for the Sports League Director has not been adjusted in 20 months, and based on the recent salary survey done for the position, Staff is recommending the salary range be adjusted from $9 .00-$12 .00 per hour to $10.00-$13 .00 per hour. Attached is a resolution prepared by Staff which establishes a salary plan for part-time personnel . Although the resolution lists all of the City's nineteen part-time positions, Staff is only recommending that the salary range for Sports League Director be adjusted. No increase is recommended for the other part-time positions at this time. It is, therefore, the recommendation of Staff that the City Council adopt the attached resolution establishing a salary plan for. part-time personnel . ----------- ---------------------------------------------------------- ITEM NO. COPIES TO: CITY CLERK FILE D D D RESOLUTION NO. - 91 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN ************************* ESTABLISHING A SALARY PLAN FOR PART-TIME PERSONNEL WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Resolution No. 130-88 and subsequent amendments Establishing a Salary Plan for Part-Time Personnel; and WHEREAS, competitive salary provisions which will attract and retain quality employees are important to the organization; and WHEREAS, it is desirable to update salary provisions for part-time employees in the City's personnel system. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that part-time salary provisions enacted in all previous resolutions be superseded by this resolution.
