RECOMMENDATION: pprove Closure of Burton Street Between Amador Valley
Blvd. and Tamarack Drive for July 4, 1986, Subject to
Homeowners Providing Proper Barricades and Proof of
Insurance
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION
Residents of Burton Street are requesting permission to close Burton
Street between Amador Valley Blvd. and Tamarack Drive for the purpose of
having a block party. The City Council has granted permission in previous
years, the most recent being 1984.
Because of the City's current lack of liability insurance, the City
Attorney has requested that residents involved in this activity provide proof
of homeowner's insurance as a condition of being allowed to close the street.
Staff recommends that the Burton Street residents be allowed to close
the street on the Fourth of July, with the stipulation that proof of insurance
be provided and that the residents take responsibility for maintaining proper .
barricades for the duration of the block party.

As you are no doubt aware, the City Council has approved your request to close
your block of Burton Street for your Fourth of Jul; block party.
e will need to have a list of homeowners' insurance carriers and policy
nu;;.ibers for the residents who participate in this block party. if you could droy
this off or „sail it to arrive prior to the Fourth of July, we would appreciate it.
The other condition of approval is that you will need to provide adequate
barricades and hake sure that an adult is available to monitor the barricades in case
traffic needs to get in or out. •
