SUBJECT: Maintenance of Sierra Court Landscaping
EXHIBITS ATTACHED: Sketch Showing Area Proposed to be Maintained by the City
RECOMMENDATION: /2: Authorize Staff to request approval of the plans by Dublin
V San Ramon Services District, subject to the City's providing
maintenance of this strip of land.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Annual maintenance cost is estimated to be between $4,000 and
$5,000.00.
DESCRIPTION:
Along the Sports Grounds on the easterly edge of the extension of Sierra Court,
City Staff is proposing mounding, additional trees, and additional sidewalk to
enhance the appearance of the new access to the Civic Center site. Dublin San Ramon
Services District is unwilling to maintain this area because its maintenance would be
more costly than that required for turf only. Staff recommends that the City Council
approve City maintenance of this area (shown on the attached sketch plan) and
authorize Staff to request approval of the plans by Dublin San Ramon Services
District for the area subject to the City's providing this maintenance.
The alternative would be to revise the plan to eliminate the mounding, the
additional trees, and the additional sidewalk, returning the project to a grassed
area between the fields and the Civic Center access road.
