FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION The City Council has received a letter from Ralph
Hughes on behalf of the Dublin-San Ramon' s Lions Club . Mr. Hughes has
invited the Council to participate in the Third Annual St . Patrick' s Day
Parade which will occur at 11 a.m. on March 15 , 1986.
If the Council wishes to participate it would have to decide on an entry and
have the information submitted to Dublin-San Ramon Lions Club no later than
February 15 , 1986 .

Greetings :
As the chairperson for the Parade Committee , I would like
to invite you to participate in the Third Annual St . Patrick ' s
Day Parade organized and sponsored by the DUBLIN-SAN RAMON
LIONS CLUB . The parade will take place in Dublin on Saturday,
March 15 , 1986 beginning at 11 : 00 a.m.
This year ' s parade , as well as the festivities that will
take place that evening at the Shannon Center , promise to be
enjoyable to participants and spectators alike . Last year ' s
festivities were very successful and I anticipate that this
year ' s events will be equally as successful and enjoyable . It
is an opportunity for us all to " let our hair down " and spend
some time with our neighbors and friends .
Enclosed you will find an application and the parade
rules . Kindly review both at your convenience and return the
completed application to me on or before February 15 , 1986 .
Please be sure that the application is both complete and
accurate .
As a representative of the DUBLIN-SAN RAMON LIONS CLUB and
LIONS INTERNATIONAL , I look forward to seeing you on March 15 ,
1986 at this annual community event !

Dear Participant:
This year's St. Patritk's Day Parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. on
March 15, 1986 at the intersection of Amador Valley -Boulevard and Amador
Plaza. To ensure that the parade begins on time and with the least amount
of confusion, please contact Mr. Bill Burnham there NO LATER THAN 10:00
A.M. Mr. Burnham will assign each participant or group of participants
to their place in the parade.

Parade Facts, Policy and Regulations
In return for being invited to participate
in the 3rd Annual Dublin-San Ramon Lion' s
Club St Patrick ' s Day Parade, to be
presented on Saturday March 15, 1986, all
1� participants agree to the following:
1. In consideration of inclusion as a participant in the 1985 St Patrick' s Day
Parade and other good valuable consideration, receipt of which is hereby
acknowledged, participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Dublin-San
Ramon Lion Club and Lions International and their members, agents, performers,
and/or volunteers from any claims, demands, costs or judgments arising from
participant' s involvement in the 1986 St Patrick' s Day Parade.
2. All mechanical equipment must be in sound mechanical condition, equipped with a
tow bar or chain, mounted in the front of the vehicle; carry an emergency
portable fire extinguisher; be at the assigned formation position and ready for
inspection by the Dublin Fire Department and parade committee.
3. Entry must be covered by adequate insurance.
4. No commercial advertising of any kind is allowed without prior written approval
of Pageantry Productions.
5. All signs are to be approved in writing by the Parade Committee.
6. No objects of any kind may be thrown to Parade spectators.
7. All sound-equipment entries must specify type of equipment and use of sound upon
the appropriate Parade Application.
8. No philosophical , political or religious messages may be incorporated into the
design or used on any entry in the Parade without written permission of the St.
Patrick ' s Day Parade Committee.
9. Placement in the line of march of the Parade is at the sole discretion of the
Parade Committee.
10. All vehicles to be entered must be decorated and distinctive and/or occupants in
said vehicle(s) in appropriate costome.
All units please take notice: All units are requested not to delay the movement of
the parade. At no time will anything be thrown to the crowd from any parade unit
(such as candy, gum, trinkets, informative material , etc. ) .

In submitting this application including the Parade Facts, Policy and Regulations,
parade participants agree to all conditions set forth. Applicants stipulate that the
Dublin-San Ramon Lions club and Lions Club International , their agents, employees and
representatives have made no representation, promises or guarantees regarding parade
positions, media coverage or preferential treatment of any kind.
In consideration of inclusion as a participant in the 1986 St. Patrick ' s Day Parade and
other good and valuable consideration, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged,
participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Dublin-San Ramon Lions Club and
Lions Club International , its members, employees and agents against all liability or
loss that participant and/or participant' s members, performers and/or volunteers may
sustain or incur as a result of claims, demands, costs or judgment arising from
participant ' s involvement in the 1986 St. Patrick ' s Day Parade.
