Written Communication: Participation in Pleasanton's 100 Year
Anniversary Parade on Saturday, June 18, 1994.

FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: Correspondence was received from the Pleasanton Centennial Celebration
Conunittee regarding the City of Pleasanton's 100 years of incorporation. The theme of the parade is
"100 Years of Good Times."
The event committee has invited the neighboring jurisdictions to participate in the parade by entering
a vehicle or float to be ridden by members of the City Council. In order to participate, staff should be
directed to complete the required application. All entries must include the type of vehicle, Le. float,
car, etc., that will be used in the parade.
Staff recommends the City Council discuss participation in the event and if appropriate, direct staff to
complete the entry form.

We are delighted to invite you to share our iestivities which celebrate 100 years of incorporation as a
city in the State of California.
On Saturday, June 18, 1994, the City of Pleasanton turns 100 years young and, among other
activities, we are hosting a parade with the theme "100 Years of Good Times" as part of our "Birthday
Party" in charming downtown Pleasanton to celebrate our Centennial and heritage.
The parade will be coordinated by radio station KNBR of San Francisco and feature morning
celebrities Frank Dill and Mike Cleary. It promises to be an enjoyable event and we would love to
have you share in the fun as your involvement with Pleasanton over the years has helped us become
who we are as a community.
Please join us in the parade by entering a vehicle or float with the members of your elected body and
whatever staff is available for the fun.
The enclosed application should be completed and returned as per the instructions and arrangements
made including the appropriate vehicle for your entry.
We look forward to hearing from you at the earliest possible time and to your participation in the "100
Years of Good Times" parade.
