DESCRIPTION The Tri-Valley Community Fund has
requested the use of Shannon Center on September. 19 , 1985 for
their annual fundraising campaign kickoff reception and is
requesting that the rental charge be waived. The Tri-Valley
Community Fund is a non-profit, tax exempt charitable fund
established to provide a stable source of funding for agencies
which provide , educational, cultural, health, recreational and
human care services in the communities of the Tri-Valley area.
At the regular City Council meeting on May 29, 1984, a Resolution
establishing the facility rental rates for the Shannon Community
Center was adopted. The current policy has no provision for the
waiver of fees , instead resident and non-profit groups are
charged at a lesser rate . Any exception to this policy would
require City Council approval .
Below is a breakdown of the rental rates for the proposed
function:
$ 7 . 00 - Set-up charge ( 1 hr @ $7 . 00 )
16 . 00 - Room Rental (West Room 2 hrs @ $8 . 00 )
14 . 00 - Building Attendant ( 2 hrs @ $7 . 00 )
7 . 00 - Clean-up charge ( 1 hr @ $7 . 00)
$44 . 00 - Sub-Total
28 . 00 - Insurance (May provide own coverage)
$72 . 00 TOTAL
It should be noted that a building attendant will be in
attendance regardless of whether the function is held because of
City sponsored classes scheduled for other rooms in the Center.
Last year the Tri-Valley Community Fund held . this event at
Ravenswood with the cost of the facility being absorbed by the
Livermore Area Recreation and Park District.
It is the recommendation of' staff that the City Council give
consideration to the Tri-Valley Community Fund request .

The purpose of the reception is to honor the major contributors
