FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION This ordinance was prepared by the City Attorney at
the request of the City Council . The ordinance was
introduced at the City Council meeting of April 23 ,
1984 .
This ordinance would have the effect of changing the
City ' s Municipal Election from the second Tuesday in
April of even numbered years to the first Tuesday
after the first Monday in November in even numbered
years . The ordinance would extend the terms of
present City Councilmembers from 4 years and 2 years
to 4 years , 7 months and 2 years , 7 months
respectively. This ordinance would also result in
municipal elections being administered by the- County
Registrar instead of the City Clerk .

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
CONSOLIDATING THE CITY MUNICIPAL
ELECTION WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION
THE CITY* COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
Section l . ' CONSOLIDATION
The City of Dublin municipal election shall
be consolidated with the statewide general election which is
held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November
in even-numbered years .
Section 2 . EXTENSION OF TERMS OF OFFICE
The terms of office of council members
elected to two year terms at the April 10 , 1984 municipal
election shall be extended, pursuant to the provisions of
Government Code Section 36503 . 5 , until the Tuesday after the
day of the general municipal election. The terms of office
of council members elected to four year terms at the April 10 ,
1984 municipal election shall be extended until the Tuesday
after the day of general municipal election in November 1988 .
Section 3 . BOARD OF SUPERVISOR APPROVAL
The City Clerk of the City of Dublin is
directed to transmit this Ordinance to the Alameda County
Board of Supervisors for its approval .
Section 4 . POSTING OF ORDINANCE
The City Clerk of the City of Dublin shall
cause this Ordinance to be posted in at least three (3) public
places in the City of Dublin in accordance with Section 36933
of the Government Code of the State of California.

of Dublin on this 23rd day of January 1984 , by• the following
