FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Approximate cost of $200 for installation of two yield
signs
DESCRIPTION Yield signs are proposed at two locations where there
are presently free right turns at the intersection of Dublin Boulevard and
Village Parkway. Yield signs would be placed to control right turns on the
northeast corner (adjacent to Wendy ' s) and the southeast corner (adjacent to
Carl ' s Jr . ) .
These signs will require drivers making right turns to yield the right-of-
way to through traffic . This assignment of the right-of-way will provide
for enhanced traffic flow. The Traffic Engineer has made this
recommendation after conducting a review of the intersection. The
installation of yield signs will control right turn movements which may
conflict with protected movements at the intersection.
Staff recommends that the City Council conduct a public hearing, deliberate ,
waive the reading and adopt the ordinance .

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
ESTABLISHING TRAFFIC REGULATIONS
The City Council of the City of Dublin does ordain as follows :
Section 1 . YIELD RIGHT-OF-WAY MANDATORY
Article 3 , relating to "Yield Right-of-Way" . Intersections of
the Alameda County Ordinance Code previously adopted by the City
of Dublin is amended by the addition of Section 6-55 .13 and 6-
55 . 82 to read :
6-55 .13 Dublin Boulevard westbound right turn lane at
Village Parkway.
6-55 . 82 Village Parkway northbound right turn lane at
Dublin Boulevard .
Section 2 . IMMEDIATE EFFECT
This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its
enactment because the adoption and immediate effect thereof is
necessary in order to protect vehicular and pedestrian safety .
Section 3 . POSTING OF ORDINANCE
The City Clerk of the City of Dublin shall cause this
Ordinance to be posted in at least three (3 ) public places in the
City of Dublin in accordance with Section 36933 of the Government
Code of the State of California.

of Dublin on this 12th day of August , 1985 by the following vote :

SUBJECT: YIELD Signs At Dublin Boulevard/Village Parkway
We have reviewed the need of providing "YIELD" signs at the intersection of
Dublin Boulevard and Village Parkway to control right turn movements, for
traffic safety reasons.
Presently, only the eastbound right turn movement is regulated by the
traffic signal installation, the other three right turn movements at the
intersection are uncontrolled.
In field observation, we found that westbound and northbound right turn
vehicles have limited sight distances, and can be conflicting with vehicles
making other protected movements at the intersections. Weaving before
driveways near the intersection presents another hazardous situation for
uncontrolled right turn movements.
In summary, we recommend that "YIELD" signs be installed at the
intersection of Dublin Boulevard/Village Parkway to control the right turn
movements in the westbound and northbound approaches.
