DESCRIPTION: Mr. Lee Horner, City Manager of Livermore has written on
behalf of the Citizens Cable Television Advisory Committee
requesting the Dublin City Council to contact Viacom
Cablevision regarding notifying subscribers about parental
control devices.

Dear Mr. Ambrose:
At their last meeting, the Citizens Cable Television Advisory
Committee asked that I write to you and urge your City to contact
Viacom Cablevision asking them to send the attached notice to all their
subscribers at least every three months. In addition, the Committee
asks the Cities to urge Viacom Cablevision to institute, as part of their
standard procedures, the distribution of this notice to all those new
subscribers who come in and pick up their channel selection boxes.
It was the Committee 's hope that each City would write to Viacom
Cablevision and urge the aforementioned steps be taken so that the sub-
scribing public can continually be made aware of the parental control
device offered by Viacom Cablevision, as well as the steps that can be
taken to block out certain audio portions on the cable system.
