Zone (Yellow Curb) and No Parking Zone
(Red Curb) on Golden Gate Drive

FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Minimal cost for curb painting.
DESCRIPTION: Crown Chevrolet (7544 Dublin Boulevard)
has requested a loading zone (yellow curb) to allow auto
transport trucks to unload without double parking on Golden Gate
Drive. Crown' s letter indicates that the Dublin Police have
notified the transport companies that they can' t unload in the
middle of the street. Like some of the other auto dealerships,
they do not have interior parking space for unloading.
Crown' s requested loading zone would be across the street from
their site in front of Great Western Savings site on the west
side of Golden Gate, where a driveway and an adjacent red zone
(for a fire hydrant) would allow the trucks to pull into the
unloading zone.
A representative of Great Western Savings said that he would
object to an loading zone on either side of the street at this
time. (Great Western' s request for approval of a gate on their
parking lot has been denied by the Planning Commission and has
been appealed to the City Council . ) Crown Chevrolet has a five
hundred foot plus frontage on the east side of Golden Gate Drive.
The staff recommends a loading zone at the south end of this
frontage just north of Crown' s southerly driveway (see the
attached location map) . A twenty foot red zone would be
established between the driveway and the loading zone.
If The City Council adopts this ordinance, a total of six on-
street parking spaces would be removed on Golden Gate Drive .

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
ESTABLISHING TRAFFIC REGULATIONS
The City Council of the City of Dublin does ordain as follows:
Section 1. LOADING ZONES:
As adopted by the City of Dublin in Ordinance 13-82;
Title 6 - Vehicles and Traffic, Chapter 1 - Traffic Regulations,
Article 10 - Loading Zones, shall be amended to include the
following:
6-410.5 Golden Gate Drive
On the east curbline from a point 404 feet south
of Dublin Boulevard, south a distance of 100 feet.
Section 2. NO PARKING ZONES:
Article 7, relating to "No Parking Zones": of the Alameda
County Ordinance Code previously adopted by the City of Dublin is
amended by the addition of Section 6-290.0 (Golden Gate Drive) to
read:
6-290.0 Golden Gate Drive
On the east curbline from a point 504 feet south
of Dublin Boulevard, south a distance of 20 feet.
Section 3. IMMEDIATE EFFECT
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its
enactment because the adoption and immediate effect thereof is
necessary in order to protect vehicular and pedestrian safety.
Section 4. POSTING OF ORDINANCE
The City Clerk of the City of Dublin shall cause this
ordinance to be posted in at least three (3) public places in the
City of Dublin in accordance with Section 36933 of the Government
Code of the State of California.

of Dublin on this 14th day of October, 1985 by the following

RE: Loading Zone, street parking and parking restrictions on
Golden Gate Drive.
Dear Mr. Thompson,
The auto truck transport companies that deliver our New
Vehicles and freight have been advised by the Dublin Police
Department that they no longer are allowed to unload on Golden
Gate Drive as they have done for the past 15 years. Because of
the increased traffic and congestion in this area, we agree
that unloading in the middle of the street is not possible.
Crown Chevrolet receives daily deliveries of freight and
new vehicles and we have no facilities for off street unloading.
The area between our southern most building on Golden Gate Drive
has been set aside for our employee off street parking. In order
to solve this problem we submit the following plan as a solution.
1. Make a No Parking (red zone) from Great Western
Savings new driveway south to approximately 15 ft.
south of the existing fire hydrant (see attached map).
2. Continue with a yellow loading zone from the end of
the no parking area south for approximately 75 ft.
3. A No Parking restriction for vehicles over 20 ft.
long on the entire Golden Gate Drive.
An example of the three items above can be seen across the
street from the Ozzie Davis Pontiac agency on Dublin Ct.
We feel that this plan would be benificial to Crown Chevrolet
and the City of Dublin as well as our business neighbors and at
the same time the loss of street parking spaces would be at a
minimum.
Your prompt attention in this matter would be greatly
appreciated.
