RECOMMENDATION: Review and comment on mock-up of community profile brochure. 2. Direct staff to proceed with final design and printing of 5000 copies of the community profile brochure. FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Costs associated with typesetting, printing, photo separations and photography of a four page, color brochure with four color photographs are estimated to be approximately $4,400 for 5,000 copies. Funds have been provided in the FY 1990-91 budget for this project. DESCRIPTION: Included in the 1990 City of Dublin Goals and Objectives Plan were a number of economic development objectives including development of a community profile/promotion brochure. The purpose of the brochure is to provide potential business persons and new residents with a brief, attractive and informative brochure emphasizing the benefits of locating in the City of Dublin. On July 23 , 1990 the City Council directed Staff to prepare a draft or "mock-up" of the community profile brochure and bring it back before the Council for review. A black and white mock-up of a four page brochure with four photographs has been prepared in an 8 1/2 x 11 inch format (one 11 x 17 inch sheet folded in half) . The draft text is oriented to a variety of target markets with an emphasis on small businesses and households. The information in the brochure is arranged around the color photographs under -bold subtitles. It is recommended that the City Council review and .comment on the draft text and mock-up of the community profile brochure and ' authorize the final design and printing of 5000 copies of the community profile brochure. It will be necessary to print five thousand copies of the Community Profile Brochure to have a sufficient quantity on hand for distribution by the Chamber of Commerce and the City over a two year period. If larger amounts of the brochure are desired, 7,500 would cost approximately $5,020 and 10,000 would cost approximately $5,800. m ^ ." .s.
