AGENDA STATEMENT CITY COUNCil MEETING DATE: January 19,1999 SUBJECT: Selection of Street Name for New Street on General Motors Site Report Prepared by: Lee S. Thompson, Public Works Director ATTACHMENTS: 1) 2) Resolution Location Map RECOMMENDATIO~ 1) Select street name from list of five names previously discussed Incorporate selected name into draft resolution and adopt resolution. 2) FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None associated with adoption of street name . DESCRIPTION: At the December 15th meeting, the City Council approved Parcel Map 7250, including a street designated as "Court A," and selected five potential street names for this new street. The street will be located off Dublin Boulevard at the General Motors site (see Location Map). The five names selected were: Court, and Sunrise Court. Clover Court, John Monego Court, Michael Murray Court, Ireland The five names have been circulated to surrounding cities, Alameda County, emergency services, and the postal service. None of the five names was rejected by any of these agencies. Therefore, the City Council may proceed to select one of the five names for the street. The City Council Subcommittee, consisting of Councilmembers Howard and McCormick, recommend that the City Council select John Monego Court. If the City Council concurs, Staff recommends that the City Council incorporate the chosen name into the resolution, and adopt the resolution. ---.--~----~---------~---------_.~--------------------~---------- . A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN ********* APPROVAL OF NEW STREET NAME FOR "COURT A" ON PARCEL MAP 7250 WHEREAS, Parcel Map 7250 was approved by the Dublin City Council on December 15, 1998, and the dedication of Court A was accepted therewith; and WHEREAS, the City Council now desires that "Court A" should bear the name of ; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the Dublin Municipal Code, surrounding cities, Alameda County, emergency services, and the U.S. Postal Service have been notified of the City's intent to name the street and have not objected to the proposed name; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Dublin City Council approves the name for the street designated as "Court A" on Parcel Map 7250. . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed to submit this street name change to the County Recorder for recording. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of January, 1999.
