FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
Sufficient funds are available in the City
Council's Budget for the purchase of sign
banners.
DESCRIPTION: On April 11, 1994, the City Council discussed an
invitation from the City of Pleasanton and determined that it would
enjoy participating in Pleasanton's "100 Years of Good Times" parade
being held on Saturday, June 18, 1994.
At the April 25, 1994 City Council meeting, em. Burton stated he
thought it would be fun to come up with a theme and have signs and/or
banners made up to attach to the vehicle in which the Dublin City
Council would be riding in the parade.
The Council requested that em. Burton obtain price information.
em. Burton has obtained price quotes from two sign makers of $130 and
$82, and will discuss his ideas on the proposed theme. It is Staff's
understanding that the sign/banners can be made up within 2 days.
Staff recommends that the City Council discuss the Council's
participation using em. Burton's suggested theme for the parade and
provide appropriate direction with regard to ordering sign/banners.

WAIVER and INDEMNIFICATION
In submitting this entry for the KNBR Goudtimes Parade to be held in the City of Pleasantun on June 11.1, '1994, we do so with the
understanding that we are fully responsible for the actions of our Unit, including transportation to and from the Parade, and that we
will conduct ourselves in a safe and orderly manner during the parade. We agree to abide by any decision of a Parade official relative
to our ability to safely participate.
We are aware that participating in the Parade may be a potentially strenuous and hazardous activity and assume all risks associated
with this Parade, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, including high heat and/or
humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by us.
In consideration of being permitted to participate, we hereby release and forever discharge Susquehanna Pfaltzgraff Co., Susque-
hanna Media Co., Susquehanna Radio Corp., Bay Area Radio Corp., KNBR, lnc., Radio Station KNBR 68, the city of Pleasanton,
Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, Pleasanton Centennial Celebration, Inc., and all of their respective owners, officers, directors,
employees and agents and all sponsors of this event, from any and all claims and liabilities of any kind arising out of our participation
in this Parade.
In addition, we hereby agree to defend, indemnify and hold all of the above parties harmless from all liabilities, damages, claims
and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of our negligent or willful acts or omissions in connection with the
Parade. We understand that by signing this document we are giving up certain legal rights we otherwise might have. We do so
knowingly and willingly.
