DESCRIPTION Since incorporation, the City has received numerous
requests for traffic studies. Most of these requests
were tabled pending the selection of a City Engineer.
Now that the City has selected a City Engineer, a list
of those traffic study requests and projects which may
involve traffic study have been compiled. This list
is not prepared in order of priority.
At the City Council ' s recent Goals and Objectives Session, the City Council
indicated that it was desirous of prioritizing the list of traffic studies
in order that the City Engineer and Traffic Engineer might get work underway
on the higher priorities. As can be seen from the attached list, traffic
study requests centered on either San Ramon Road or Dublin Boulevard.
Rather than prioritizing each individual traffic study requested, it would
seem more beneficial to look at either San Ramon Road or Dublin Boulevard in
its entirety and at the same time, look at some of the more localized
concerns that have been brought to the City Council ' s attention. It is
Staff ' s recommendation that the City Council establish traffic study
priorities at either San Ramon Road or Dublin Boulevard. Once that priority
has been set, Staff will bring back to the Council the suggested parameters
of the study area and estimated cost of conducting a study.
