SUBJECT Ordinance of the City of Dublin establishing Traffic
Regulations

RECOMMENDATION Waive reading of ordinance, introduce ordinance, and

adopt ordinance on an urgency basis .
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION The City has been notified by the County Public Works
Department that the County had neglected to include
certain portions of the Traffic Regulations at the
time that the City adopted the County' s Traffic
Regulations by reference. The locations impacted by
these traffic regulations are identified in the
attached ordinance. Since these traffic regulations
are presently not in force, it is important for
purposes of public safety to adopt this ordinance on
an urgency basis. Therefore, it is Staff ' s
recommendation that the City Council waive the
reading, introduce the ordinance, and adopt the
ordinance as an urgency ordinance .

Dear Mr. Ambrose:
You were advised previously of traffic regulations which were
in force on city streets prior to the incorporation of the City of
Dublin.
Several additional Turning Regulations were discovered in the
course of working with the County's traffic regulations. These are
described in the attached suggested Ordinance using the County's
numbering system. If the format is in order, it is recommended that
the City Council adopt the Ordinance.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
ESTABLISHING TRAFFIC REGULATIONS
The City Council of the City of Dublin does ordain as follows:
Section 1 .
Article 6, relating to "Turning Regulations," of the
Alameda County Ordinance Code previously adopted by the City of Dublin is
amended by the addition of Sections 6-162.44, 6-168.32, 6-168.33, 6-168.36,
6-168.38 and 6-168.52 to. read:
It is unlawful to turn a vehicle so as to proceed in the opposite direction
at the following described locations.
6-162.44 Dublin Boulevard and Golden Gate Drive and Driveway
Opposite Golden Gate Drive, North and South Approaches.
(Based on Ordinance 78-99)
Mandatory right turn movements.
6-168.32 San Ramon Road and Amador Valley Boulevard. The driver
of any vehicle entering the intersection of San Ramon
Road and Amador Valley Boulevard while traveling in
the most northeasterly northwesterly bound traffic
lane on San Ramon Road shall proceed only by turning
riaht onto Amador Valley Boulevard.
(Based on Ordinance 70-39)
6-168.33 Amador Valley Boulevard and San Ramon Road. The driver
of any vehicle entering the intersection of Amador
Valley Boulevard and San Ramon Road while traveling
in the most northerly westerly bound traffic lane on
Amador Valley Boulevard shall proceed only by turning
right onto San Ramon Road.

6-168.36 Amador Valley Boulevard and Regional Street and Drive-
way Op oste Regional Street. The driver of any vehicle
entering the intersection of Amador Valley Boulevard
and Regional Street from the driveway opposite Regional
Street shall proceed only by turning right onto Amador
Valley Boulevard.
(Based on Ordinance 74-45)
6-168.38 Amador Valley Boulevard and Regional Street. The
driver of any vehicle entering the intersection of
Amador Valley Boulevard and Regional Street while
traveling in the most easterly northbound traffic
lane on Regional Street shall proceed only by turning
right onto Amador Valley Boulevard.
(Based on Ordinance 81 -20)
6-168.52 Dougherty Road and Dublin Boulevard and Scarlett
Court. The driver of any vehicle entering the
intersection of Dougherty Road and Dublin Boulevard
and Scarlett Court while traveling in the most
southerly eastbound traffic lane of Dublin Boulevard
shall proceed only by turning right onto Dougherty
Road.

Section 2. IMMEDIATE EFFECT
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its enact-
ment because the adoption and immediate effect thereof is necessary in
order to protect vehicular and pedestrian safety.
Section 3. POSTING OF ORDINANCE
The City Clerk of the City of Dublin shall cause this ordinance
to be posted in at least three (3) public places in the City of Dublin in ac-
cordance with Section 36933 of the Government Code of the State of California.
