Ambrose, City Manager ATTACHMENTS: None RECOMMENDATION:~Provide Staff with appropriate direction FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None DESCRIPTION: On March 18, 1999, the City Council adopted its 1999-2000 Goals & Objectives Program. This program included a total of 123 objectives, 90 (73%) of those objectives were designated as High Priority by the City Council. ~ One of the objectiVes adopted by the City Council was to revise/amend the Public Art Policy to require developers to pay a 1% impact fee for public art. This objective was given a Low Priority by the City Council. It should be noted that Council funded a Citywide assessment of heritage and cultural arts programming for this fiscal year. The community's opinion of public art, as well as funding for public art, will be included in the assessment. The assessment will be initiated in January 2000 and concluded by May 2000. At the City Council meeting of November 16, 1999, Staff was requested to place the discussion of the Public Art Policy on the agenda for the Council to reconsider the priority forthis objective.
