FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None DESCRIPTION: The Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) is proposing changes in the BART Express Bus Route D from Walnut Creek to Dublin. In the Dublin area, BART is proposing to discontinue weekday service on Alcosta Blvd. (between Interstate 680 and Village Parkway) and Village Parkway (between Alcosta Blvd. and Dublin Blvd. ) . BART is proposing to use San Ramon Road as the new route. BART Staff has indicated that the reason for the change is to streamline the express bus service. The proposed change would reduce the Dublin area trip time at peak periods by 7 to 10 minutes ( from 17 or 20 minutes down to 10 minutes ) . The overall trip time from Walnut Creek to Dublin would be reduced about 16 minutes ( from 61 minutes down to 45 minutes ) . In the Contra Costa County portion of the route, the proposed change would be implemented in coordination with local bus service to be provided by the Central Contra Costa Transit Authority ( CCCTA) . The local bus service would begin in February 1986 , while the express bus service on the new route would begin in March 1986 . The City Council may want to address items such as ( 1 ) the coordination of local bus service in the Dublin area with the new express bus service route, and ( 2 ) the timing of a park and ride facility to reduce commuter parking problems . BART Staff will attend the City Council meeting to make a short presentation and answer questions . The BART Staff will hold a community meeting on the proposed change on November 20 , 1985 , at 7 : 30 p.m, at the Dublin Library. The BART District Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed change on November 22 , 1985 , at 10 : 00 a .m, at the BART Administration Building, 800 Mission Street, Oakland, in the Fifth Floor Conference Room. FRANCISCO BAY AREA RAPID TRANSIT DISTRICT NOTICE OF COMNITY MEETING BART will hold a community meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20th at the Dublin Public Library, 7606 Amador Valley Boulevard in -Dublin, to discuss the following proposed changes in BART Express Bus service in the San Ramon Corridor between Walnut Creek BART and Dublin. 1. Implementation of new Interstate 680 freeway Express Bus service between Walnut Creek BART and Livorna Road in Alamo and between Stone Valley Road in Alamo and Diablo Street in Danville. 2. Implementation of new Interstate 680 freeway Express Bus service from Sycamore Valley Road to Crow Canyon Road in San Ramon with a loop through Bishop Ranch via Crow Canyon Road, Camino Ramon, and Bollinger Canyon Road. 3. Implementation of new Interstate 680 freeway Express Bus service from Bollinger Canyon Road to Alcosta Road in San Ramon. 4. Discontinuation of weekday D route service on Danville Boulevard between Main Street in Walnut Creek and Livorna Road in Alamo. 5. Discontinuation of weekday D route service on Danville Boulevard and Hartz Avenue between Stone Valley Road . in Alamo and Diablo Street in Danville. 6. Discontinuation of weekday D route service on San Ramon Valley Boulevard between Sycamore Valley Road in Danville, and Alcosta Boulevard in San R amon. 7. Discontinuation of weekday service on Crow Canyon Road between Interstate 680 and Bollinger Canyon Road and on Bollinger Canyon Road between Crow Canyon Road and Interstate 680. 8. Discontinuation of all service on San Ramon Valley Boulevard between Montevideo Road and Alcosta Boulevard in San Ramon. 9. Discontinuation of weekday service on Alcosta Boulevard between Interstate 680 and Village Parkway and on Village Parkway between Alcosta Boulevard and Dublin Boulevard. The above changes in San Ramon corridor BART Express Bus service would be implemented in coordination with implementation of Central Contra Costa Transit Authority local service which would operate on a similar route to the current BART D Express Bus alignment. CCCTA proposes to begin operation of their local service in February, 1986 while the BART freeway oriented Express Bus service would begin in March, 1986. A public hearing on the above items will be held at 10:00 a.m, on Friday, November 22, 1985 at the BART Administration Building, 800 Madison Street, Oakland, California in Fifth Floor Conference Room. On Wednesday, Nov. 13, BART Express Bus planning coordinator Jim Evans will be in Danville to present BART's proposed changes to the "D" route. The discussion will immediately follow the Central Cootra Costa County Transit Authority's (CCCTA) 7:30 p.m. public hearing on its proposed new route #121 which, for the most part, will replace local bus service eliminated in the.nroposed changes to BART's Express Bus "D" route. The meeting will be held at the San Ramon Unified School District's Education Center, 699 Old Orchard *Dr. Immediately following the second of the CCCTA's two public hearings on changes to its route #121 , scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 14, at .7:30 p.m. , Evans will repeat BART's presentation on proposed changes to the "D" route. The Nov. 14 CCCTA public hearing will be held in the City Council Chambers, 2:22 Camino Ramon, San Ramon. A third meeting on the proposed changes in'the BART Express Bus "D" route .will= be held the following Wednesday, Nov: 20, at 7:30 p.m. , in the Dublin Public Library;-'-; 1706 Amador Valley Blvd. Since 1984, BART has been revising its Express Bus routes by eliminating many - of the local stops and making them more freeway oriented. In most cases, the local service eliminated in BART.'s. revised bus routes is provided by other transit operators. If approved by BART's board of directors, the changes to the "D" BART Express Bus route would be implemented in March 1986.
