DECEMBER 1, 2020
Regular Meeting
A Regular Meeting of the Dublin City Council was held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020,
remotely via Zoom Video Communications. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM,
by Mayor Haubert.

3.1. Recognition of Supervisor Scott Haggerty
By motion of mayor Haubert and seconded by Councilmember Hernandez, the City
Council recognized outgoing Alameda County Board of Supervisors representative,
Scott Haggerty, and proclaimed December 1st as "Scott Haggerty Day" in the City of
Dublin, in his honor.

4. Consent Calendar
4.1. Approved the November 17 and 23, 2020 Special City Council Meeting Minutes.

Month in the City of Dublin.

AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TABLES, CHAIRS, AND RELATED
EQUIPMENT FROM MITYLITE FOR THE DUBLIN SENIOR CENTER

Agreement for the transfer of approximately one acre of property from the Surplus
Property Authority to the City of Dublin for an affordable housing site.

7. Unfinished Business
7.1. Introduction of An Ordinance Establishing Chapter 5.89 (Safe Firearm Storage)
to Title 5 (Public Welfare) of the Dublin Municipal Code Regarding the Safe
Storage of Firearms
By motion of Councilmember Kumagai, and seconded by Councilmember Josey, and
by unanimous vote, the City Council received the presentation, waived the reading,
and INTRODUCED the Ordinance Establishing Chapter 5.89 (Safe Firearm Storage)
to Title 5 (Public Welfare) of the Dublin Municipal Code Regarding the Safe Storage
of Firearms.
By consensus, the City Council asked Staff to research the ability to seek grants for
trigger lock distribution to residents through Dublin Police Services and provide annual
educational workshops on safe gun use and gun storage.
8. New Business
8.1. Informational Report: Local Public Health Departments
The City Council received an informational report on city-run Public Health
Departments and the process to form a local Public Health Department.
The City Council unanimously agreed to not pursue this issue further.
9. Other Business
The City Council and Staff provided brief informational reports, including committee
reports and reports by the City Council related to meetings attended at City expense
(AB1234).
10. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 8:42 p.m. in honor of Sean Diamond and all our fallen
troops and in honor of County Supervisor Scott Haggerty on “Scott Haggerty Day.”
