HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 3.1 4H 100th Anniv ProcA PROCLAMATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF DUBLIN CALIFORNIA IN HONOR OF THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF 4-H and the 36TH ANNIVERSARY OF DUBLIN 4-H WHEREAS, theb,outh and volunteers of a~ communiO, are its greatest natural resource; and WHEREAS, 4-H programs am conducted in 3,05 ! counMes of the United States, the Distffct of Columbia, Puerto Rico, [Jirgin Islands, Guam, ~4me~ican Samoa, Mio'onesia and Northern Mariana Islands and it is one of the largest and oldest youth organizations in California; and WHEREAS, 4-H aa pa~ of the California Cooperative ~xtension system is a program where~youth, with the help of volunteer adults,/.earn together in all kinds of projects, events and activities; and WHEREAS, 4-H has been helpingyouth and adults ham, grow, and work toegether for one hundred years and has been established in the Ci~, of Dublin since I Y~6; and WHEREAS, Dublin 4-H ~vas recognized by the Dublin Ciff Coundl as Dublin's 200! "Organization of the Year." NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that L Janet Lockhart, Mayor of Dublin, on behalf of the entire Ci(y Council, do hereby prodaim the week of October 6-I2, 2002 as "National 4-H Week" and urge the people of this communi~, to take advantage of the opportuni~), to become more aware of this speda/ program vahich gives youth the chance to learn together and on their o~vn as )~art of Dublin 4-H Club and _~t/ameda Coun(y 4-H, and to join us in recognizing the unique partnership betmeen our Ci~, Counb, and University so,stem.
