FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
The total value ofthe gifts is $12,375
DESCRIPTION: In November 2006, the Dublin/San Ramon Women's Club
conducted their annual Holiday Fashion Show fundraising dinner at the Marriott Hotel in San Ramon. As
a result of this event, the Women's Club has made a donation of $12,375 to the City of Dublin. The City
would like to use these funds for the purchase of technical equipment for St. Raymond's Church.
Since the completion of the Exhibit Restoration Project, "The Journey", at the Murray Schoolhouse, 39
school and group tours have been booked for the 2006-2007 school year, which represents an increase of
56% from the previous full year of tours in 2004-2005. Due to the more confined linear design of the new
exhibit, St. Raymond's has been serving as a Visitor's Center. School groups convene at the Church and
are split into two sections, with one group touring "The Journey" exhibit while the other half of the class
remains at the Church, participating in historic related hands-on activities with a Heritage Docent. It is
Staff s desire to enhance the tour experience for school groups and private tours by installing some
technical equipment in the Church such as a sound system, portable lighting system and large screen TV
to provide a more professional tour experience for attendees. This new equipment can also be used to
enhance other arts activities such as the annual Bluegrass Concert and Winter Concerts at the Church.
Attached is a Budget Change Form to increase the Heritage Center Fiscal Year 2006-2007 Budget by
$12,375 to accomplish this goal.

RECOMMENDATION: As per Government Code Section 37354, it is recommended that all
gifts and contributions be formally accepted by the City Council. Therefore, Staff recommends that the
City Council accept the gifts, direct Staff to prepare a formal acknowledgement to the Dublin/San Ramon
Women's Club, and approve the Budget Change Form.
