FINANCIAL STAQMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: The Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District represents 55
agencies in the State of California.
The City has received a letter from John R. Rusmisel, District Manager, advising that Dr. Jim Kohnen's
term of office expires January 1,2008.
Mayor Lockhart requests that the City Council confirm the reappointment of Dr. Jim Kohnen as the City
of Dublin's appointment to the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Board for a term ending
January 1,2010.
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached Resolution making an appointment to the
Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees and direct the City Clerk to forward a
certified copy of the Resolution to the District.

Dear Mayor Lockhart:
The term of office of Dr. James Kohnen, as trustee of this District, expires January 1,
2008. We respectfully request an appointment be made prior to the expiration date for
the two-year term of trustee of this District representing the City of Dublin.
Dr. Kohnen has diligently served on our Board since 2004. His professional expertise
in the fields of entomology and public health is of great value to the District. He
currently serves as Vice-President of the Board and Chairman of the West Nile Virus
Committee. Dr. Kohnen will serve as President of the Board in 2008.
We shall appreciate your sending us a certified copy of your resolution appointing your
trustee to our Board for the term ending January 1, 2010.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN

MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE
ALAMEDA COUNTY MOSQUITO ABATEMENT DISTRICT
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin is authorized to appoint one member of the Board of Trustees of
the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District; and
WHEREAS, the term for the current appointee expires on January 1,2008; and
WHEREAS, the term of this appointment shall be through January 1,2010.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Dublin City Council hereby appoints
Dr. Jim Kohnen, as Board of Trustee representing the City of Dublin on the Mosquito Abatement District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall forward a certified copy of this
Resolution to the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District.
