WHEREAS, the l/alley Children's'Museum mas formed by a group of talented and ente~n'sing residents of the Tri-
I/alley Area in ! Y99 by addressing the needs of mothers and their children ages 0-5, and launching their idea to the public
at a local Children's I~air,· and
WHEREAS, the Valley Children's Museum promises to be a cornerstone attraction in 'the Tri-i/alley area, co~lete.mith
stimulatine~ educational exhibits andprograms for children 0-!2, as mell as volunteerprograms for~youth and seniors; and
WHEREAS, the l/alley Children's Museum is dedicated to cekbrating childhood, promoting life-long karning through
playful e~loration, and building social capital in the communities it serves; and
WHEREAS, currently, the I/alley Children's Museum Interim Program, "Museum lgfithout I~alls, functions to serve
children and families in the in the region by making traveling exhibits andprograms availabk to them at communil_y even&
libraries and schools; and
WHEREAS, the I/alley Children's Museum mill serve as a unique and fully accessibk resource that mill provide
creative space for children, families, ~youth, seniorJ; educators and parent groups to learn about their morld and each other in
an environment of cultural enrichment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE$O£ VED that I, Janet Lockhart, Mqor of Dublin, on behalf of the entire
Ci(y Council melcome the I/alley Children's Museum to the Tri-I/alley and encourage our communi(y to and utilize
its creative resources.
