Acceptance of Gifts to City from St. Patrick's Day Sponsors

Recognize the sponsors and formally accept the contributions
$40,150 in monetary sponsorships was received
DESCRIPTION: The 2009 St. Patrick's Day Festival was held on Saturday and
Sunday, March 14 & 15, at the Dublin Civic Plaza. Once again the festival featured several new
components such as Sheepherding demonstrations, the O'Reilly Tea Room and a new carnival ride
vendor. Although attendance was down from previous years, overall feedback from attendees and
vendors was all very positive.
The Festival and Fun Run were well supported by local businesses. The City received $40,150 in
sponsorships for the weekend. The City also received overwhelming support from in-kind donations of
goods and services. A list of the sponsors is shown below.

In addition to the sponsors that supported the City's Festival and Fun Run, the City Council also wants
to recognize the local non-profit organizations that coordinated other events during the St: Patrick's Day
celebration, which are as follows:

Community Pancake Breakfast, Alameda County Firefighters - Loca155
St. Patrick's Day Parade, Dublin Host Lion's Club
In recognition of their contributions, these sponsors and organizations will be presented with certificates
of appreciation and commemorative gifts for supporting Dublin's St. Patrick's Day Celebration. Per
Government Code Section 37354, it is recommended that all gifts and contributions be formally
accepted by the City Council.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council recognize the sponsors and
formally accept the contributions.
