FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
The City received $18,000 in monetary donations from Day on the
Glen Sponsors and a $2,400 monetary donation from the Family
Movie Night Sponsor
DESCRIPTION: The Parks and Community Services Department receives support for
City festivals and special events through a variety of local sponsors. The 2007 Day on the Glen Festival
and the Family Movie Nights are recent events where sponsorships were received.
Dav on the Glen Festival
The 2007 Day on the Glen Festival was held on Saturday and Sunday, September 15 & 16 at Emerald
Glen Park. The festival was attended by over 16,000 people. In addition to the many family-focused
activities, this year's event also featured a special concert and Fireworks Display to celebrate the City's
25th Anniversary. These additional activities garnered an additional 5,000 participants on Saturday
evening. The City received $18,000 in sponsorships for the festival. A list of sponsors is shown below:

Familv Movie Ni2hts
This summer, three Family Movie Nights ("Movies Under the Stars") were held Friday evenings on
August 10, August 24 and September 7 at Emerald Glen Park. Movies shown were "ET", "Charlotte's
Web", and "Curious George". The Movie Nights were well received with a collective attendance of
approximately 2,600. The City received a $2,400 event sponsorship from 99 Ranch Market.
In recognition of their contributions, these sponsors will be presented with certificates of appreciation and
a gift bag for supporting these important community events.
RECOMMENDATION: Per Government Code Section 37354, it is recommended that all
gifts and contributions be formally accepted by the City Council.
