WHEREAS~ Lee S. Thompson bas served in the engineering profession for nearly 40.years and has recdved numerous commendations during
his distinguished career; and
WHEREAS, Lee S. Thompson began his engineering career as a Junior Civil Engineer with the State ti California in June !964 and vas
promoted to an _Assistant Civil Engineer in June ! 965; left the public sector to work for Price and Harris as a I~ield Engineer in _August ! 968
to work on the development of the Bay`Area Rapid Transit project; returned to the public sector to work for the City ti V~alnut Creek in October
1968 as `Assistant Civil Engineer and later was promoted to Assistant City Engineer until July !972 when he started his own engineering
consultingfirm, Santina and Thompson; and
WHEREAS, Lee S. Thompson served as the contract Public [Vorks Director for the City of Dublin in 1983 and was appointed Public
l~orks Director in July !988for the City of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, Lee S. Thompson has been an active member tithe Dublin community through his service with the Dublin Lion's Club; and
WHEREAS, Lee S. Thompson has served as a mentor and rok model for the Public Works Profession; and
WHEREAS, such distinguished and committed service to the safety and well-being ti the dti~.ens of Dublin and beyond should not go
unrecognized by the City of Dublin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that L Janet Lockhart, M~or ti Dublin, on behalf ti the entire City Coundl, do
hereb~y commend and express sincere gratitude for the dedicated service provided by LEE S. THOMPSON and extend best wishes at this time
of his retirement as Engineering Professional t~xtraordinaire, and for his remarkable and cumulative services as a major and memorable
contributor to all within our community and beyond.
