RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the Resolution awarding Contract 06-11, Demolition of the
Buildings at 6380 and 6500 Scarlett Court, to NICA DMT, Inc.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: There are sufficient monies budgeted for this work within Capital
Improvement Program (CIP) Project No. 96852, Dougherty Road
Improvements - Houston Place to 1-580. Funds for this Project are
generated from the Eastern Dublin Traffic Impact Fee (TIF).
DESCRIPTION: As part of CIP Project No. 96852, Dougherty Road Improvements-
Houston Place to 1-580, it was necessary to acquire portions of two commercial properties situated on the
southeast comer of the Dublin Boulevard/Dougherty Road intersection. The 12,600-square-foot building
located at 6380 Scarlett Court was formerly occupied by Gil Body Works, All Glass, and Smog Station.
The 8,500-square-foot building at 6500 Scarlett Court was formerly occupied by Miracle Auto Painting.
In preparation for the widening of Dougherty Road and Dublin Boulevard, these two structures must be
demolished and the building sites cleared, which includes the capping off of utilities and the removal of
site improvements, such as asphalt and concrete surfacing. The cost of this work is budgeted within the
CIP Project, which is funded by contributions to the Eastern Dublin TIF.
A total of nine (9) bids were received, with the low bid of $83,660.00 being submitted by NICA DMT,
Inc.

Staff has reviewed the bids, determined that the low bidder has satisfactorily performed similar projects,
and recommends that the City Council adopt the Resolution awarding Contract 06-11, Demolition of the
Buildings at 6380 and 6500 Scarlett Court, to NICA DMT, Inc.

AWARDING CONTRACT 06-11
DEMOLITION OF THE BUILDINGS
AT 6380 AND 6500 SCARLETT COURT
TO NICA DMT, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on October 24, 2006, publicly open, examine, and declare all
sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for
Contract 06-11, Demolition of the Buildings at 6380 and 6500 Scarlett Court, which Plans, Specifications,
and Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a description of said work and for all particulars
relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and
WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the Public Works Director, who has recommended that
the bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing said work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does
hereby award City of Dublin Contract 06-11, Demolition of the Buildings at 6380 and 6500 Scarlett
Court, to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to wit, NICA, DMT, Inc., with a bid of Eighty-Three
Thousand Six Hundred Sixty Dollars and No Cents ($83,660.00), the particulars of which bid are on file
in the Office ofthe Public Works Director.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute the agreement.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of November, 2006.
