This projee( is funded through Eastern Dublin Traffic ln1pae( Fees.
Higher than budgeted miscel1aneous costs were primarily due to
additional survey work rcquircd during construction.
DESCRIPTION: On September 21, 2004, the City Council awarded Contract No.
04-09, Central ParkwayIPersimmon Drive Safety Improvements, to Redgwick Construction. This project
relocated approximately 320 feet of the existing left-turn lane leading from eastbound Central Parkway to
northbound Persimmon Drive to its uUimate location. The relocation moved the left-turn lane closer (0
the center of thc strcct in ordcr to increase sight distance to see vehicles approaching westbound over the
Tassajara Creek Bridge.
Staff has reviewed the work completed by Rcdgwick Construction and rccommends that the City Council
accept the improvements under Contract No. 04-09, Central ParkwayIPersimmon Drive Safety
Improvements, and release the retention after 35 days ifthere are no subcontractor claims.

This project will enhance the sight distance associated
with the eastbound left-turn movement from Central
Parkway orrto Persimmon Drive by relocating the left-
turn pocket to its ultimate location.

COMMENTS
The improvement will also include extending the median island 12 feet to the east to further enhance sight distance
and improve overall intersection geometncs.
Category 1 Eastem Dublin Traffic Impact Fee (TIF) funds will be used to cover the costs of this project. Project design
will be completed in Rscal Year 2003-2004 and construction of improvements will be implemented În Fiscal Year
2004-2005.
