FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Budget for Improvements: $46,000
DESCRIPTION:
The 2002-2007 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) includes the City Cablecast System Project. This
project provides for the installation of wall mounted cameras and control room equipment to televise City
Council and other community meetings. The CIP also includes the installation of recessed light fixtures in
the City Council Chambers that would bring the lighting to a level more appropriate for a broadcast
environment. The lighting fixtures were approved by the City Council at the May 7, 2002 City Council
Meeting.
Staff is currently reviewing proposals for the broadcast system and anticipates that a contract will be
brought to the City Council for authorization in the near future. Plans and specifications have been
prepared for the lighting portion of the project and it is ready to be advertised for bids.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize advertising for bids.
